Nutcracker Wreath and Serving Platter

I love Nutcrackers. When my oldest son was a teenager he was dating a girl that took ballet and she was in "The Nutcracker" at our local Grand Theater and I have collected Nutcrackers ever since. I made this wreath for my front door.

Nutcracker Platter

Have you ladies checked out Purple Chocolat Home? She has a beautiful home and as I was checking out her blog I came across her Nutcracker tablescape that you can check out here. I love the Nutcracker serving platter and I knew that I could make one too. So I got one of my Nutcrackers that had a flat top and I just recently bought this round wooden cutting board from the Thrift store and I had no idea what I was going to do with it, but I do now.

I primed it first and then sprayed it with Krylon Cherry Red(several coats)and then used Gorilla Glue to attach it. I love how it turned out.

I won't be able to put food directly on it since I painted it, so I put a decorative napkin on it or I could put a candy dish. I will definitely make more just as soon as I find some more round wooden pieces.

Blessing Ring

Happy Tuesday. Here is an easy Christmas craft to do. Make a Blessing Ring to count and collect your blessings.

Here is what you will need. Use a metal ring, hole punch and glue and punch holes in cards, pictures, pretty ribbons, bookmarks and put them on the ring.

I bought the metal ring from Hobby Lobby it is a necklace that you would put a pendant on.

I used glue dots on the cards and Angel bookmarks to make them stick out like that and got my largest ribbon and folded it over the top and put a little hot glue on it to slide it on the ring and then glued the other ribbons on top of that. I also added this Angel wings ornament that I got from Dollar General last year.

Hang the Blessing ring on a doorknob where you can see it and always be reminded to be grateful and count your blessings.

Hershey Bar Pie

How's everyone doing today? Here is another easy dessert that you can make and take to an office Christmas party or to other Christmas dinner parties. My husbands grandmother use to make this at Thanksgiving and Christmas and since she passed away many years ago, my husband now makes it every year. This year my oldest son wanted a dark chocolate Hershey bar pie because he loves dark chocolate so he made both.

Hershey Bar Pie

1 large Hershey Bar
9 inch pie crust
1 8 oz. cool whip
bake your pie crust and let it cool.

use a double boiler to melt your chocolate bar.

and then immediately mix in your cool whip.

and the end result.

chocolate goodness minus the foot. Enjoy!!

Easy Baked Macaroni and Cheese

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We went to Georgia to eat with my Mother-in-law and had plenty of good food and it was nice to be with family. I wanted to share this easy baked macaroni and cheese dish that I made and took with us. My husband found this recipe back in the 90's on the KRAFT Macaroni and Cheese Dinner box and I have been making it ever since.

Baked Macaroni and Cheese
1 14 oz pkg. KRAFT Deluxe Macaroni and Cheese Dinner
1 cup milk
1/2 cup sour cream
1/3 cup shredded mild cheddar cheese

So you prepare the macaroni as it says on the box. Then put the macaroni in the 13 x 9 dish and add your cheese packet that came in the box, milk, sour cream; mix well.

Top with the shredded cheese.

Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. So good so good

Tassel Tuesday

Hello everyone. I just wanted to show you the tassels that I made last year. I love Nutcrackers and I buy a new one or two or three every Christmas. I'll show you all of my collection when I start decorating for Christmas. Any who, back to tassels. I love making tassels because there are soooooo many beautiful ribbons and fringe to use and are so easy to make. I have two sayings, "Anyone that loves tassels knows, if it has a hook or a door knob on it you will find a pretty tassel hanging from it" and " Tassels... A necessity that lies only in the eye of the beholder". I hope you will enjoy these little guys and there will be more to come.

Ghoulie Girl wreath

HAPPY HALLOWEEN everyone. This is my first official post. My blog is not the way I want it yet but I just had to show you this wreath I made. I was inspired by Flamingo Toes wreath and here is the link

Here is mine and don't you just love the bling on the Crows?

Instead of tulle I used Deco Poly Mesh(love that stuff)with Poly Mesh ribbon and used my Cricut to do the lettering.
Thanks Flamingo Toes for the inspiration. Pin It Now!
